The OCUL Historical Topographic Map Digitization Project – By Kevin Wortington

The OCUL Historical Topographic Map Digitization Project has digitized and made available for public use a collection of over 1100 topographical maps for Ontario. These maps, published between 1904 and 1977, provide historical snapshots that allow researchers, students and the general public to explore changes over time. Join the lead programmer of this project Kevin Worthington as he walks through how these maps were integrated within Scholar’s Portal Geoportal, and learn how they can be used to identify and highlight issues such as erosion, urban sprawl, transportation growth and disappearing waterways.
